1. Who we are
Uplink Technologies, LLC ("Uplink," "we," "us," or "our") is a technology services company based in Cookeville, Tennessee, serving the Upper Cumberland region. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information obtained through our website at www.uplinktech.co and through our services.
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Contact information you provide voluntarily (your name, email address, phone number, company name, and the details of your message) when you submit our contact form or reach out to us directly.
- Communication records such as emails, phone call logs, and support tickets related to our services.
- Technical and usage information collected automatically when you visit our site, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and the pages you visit. See Section 7 for details on how this is collected.
We do not collect payment information through this website.
3. How we use your information
We use information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries and provide requested services
- Communicate about your account or service requests
- Send service-related notices and updates
- Understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it
- Detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fraudulent form submissions
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. How we share information
We may share your information with:
- Service providers who help us operate our business and website, under terms that limit their use of your information to providing that service to us. These include our email provider (Google/Gmail, to deliver contact form messages to our team), our spam-prevention provider (hCaptcha), and, if enabled, Google Analytics.
- Legal authorities if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, our customers, or others.
We do not share your information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
5. Data retention
Contact form submissions are delivered directly to our team's email inbox and are not stored in a database on our website. We retain that correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, provide services, and maintain business records, after which it is deleted in the ordinary course of email management. If you have an ongoing service relationship with us, related records are retained for as long as necessary to support that relationship and to comply with our legal and accounting obligations.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information submitted to us, including serving our website exclusively over encrypted connections (HTTPS), transmitting contact form messages over encrypted SMTP, and limiting access to personal information to personnel who need it to do their jobs. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Cookies & third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate and protect our website. Depending on the service, these may set cookies or process your IP address on our behalf:
- hCaptcha. Our contact form uses hCaptcha to distinguish human visitors from automated spam. When you use the contact form, hCaptcha may set cookies and process technical information such as your IP address. See hCaptcha's Privacy Policy for details.
- Google Fonts. Our page typography is loaded from Google's font service. Loading those files causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address as part of normal web server operation.
- Google Maps. Our service area pages embed a Google map. Loading the embed causes your browser to contact Google's servers, which may set cookies and log your IP address.
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website (which pages are viewed, how visitors arrived), so we can improve our content and services. It uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as your IP address, device and browser information, and browsing activity on our site. This information is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block cookies generally through your browser settings.
We do not currently use third-party advertising or retargeting cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy accordingly.
8. Third-party links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
9. Children's privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
10. Your choices & rights
You may decline to submit personal information to us through our contact form, though this may limit our ability to respond to your inquiry. Depending on your location, you may also have rights regarding personal information we hold about you, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of that information. To exercise these rights or ask a question about your data, contact us using the information in Section 12.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
